Policies

Clinic policies and patient information for safe, transparent and doctor-led care at Mew Medical. Please review the relevant policy before booking or attending treatment.

Consent Policy

At Mew Medical, consent is treated as an ongoing clinical conversation rather than a signature alone. Before any consultation, procedure or treatment, we aim to ensure that patients understand the purpose of the treatment, expected benefits, realistic limitations, alternatives, risks, recovery considerations and likely costs.

Your clinician will assess suitability and discuss whether a treatment is appropriate for your goals, medical history and individual circumstances. If a treatment is not clinically appropriate, or if more information is needed before proceeding, we may recommend delay, alternative treatment, referral or no treatment.

For aesthetic procedures, patients may be advised to take time to consider options before proceeding, particularly where treatment is elective or where expectations require further discussion. We do not support pressured decision-making or same-day treatment where a cooling-off period is clinically preferable.

Consent discussions and signed consent forms are recorded as part of the patient record. You may withdraw consent before treatment begins, and you are encouraged to ask questions at any stage. Consent does not remove the clinician’s responsibility to act safely, ethically and in your best interests.

After treatment, patients are given relevant aftercare advice, warning signs and contact details for concerns. Follow-up arrangements will depend on the procedure, the agreed treatment plan and clinical need.
